Hill Country Texas Spring Thing 2014

Post by txspider »

Welcome to the Hill Country and The Inn of the Hills Resort where we will be holding our 2nd “Spring Thing” Fiat & Friends 3 day weekend starting March 20 thru March 23, 2014. After a resounding success last year for our first event and all the positive responses we received, it was imperative that we continue to build this event even better for 2014.
The Inn of the Hills Resort will be our venue. It is located in the town of Kerrville, TX. just N.W. of San Antonio and is the gateway to some of the finest driving and scenic roads in the Hill Country of Texas. We will meet there Thursday evening 3/20 and I have 2 full days of fun roads and activities planned for Friday & Saturday with everyone checking out after breakfast Sunday.
I have negotiated a terrific rate of $89 per night and have blocked 40 rooms for “The Fiat Group”. We can start making reservations immediately using that name for our special rate and they can be canceled up to 30 days in advance if you have something come up. This event will be held “Rain or Shine” cause my name is on the contract :?)- I will have lots more details later but need everyone to start booking rooms as soon as you can so if we need to access more rooms, I can let the Inn know.
This is a family event and the drives will be planned for the enjoyment of seeing the scenery and NOT trying to get to the next stop as quickly as possible. We are trying to see if we can add some track time at Harris Hill where we went last year for the Thursday morning of 3/20 and then those that visit the track can meet up in Kerrville that evening.

Please contact “Inn of the Hills” at toll free# 800-292-5690
Tell them you are with the “Fiat Group”
Rate $89 for single or double
Dates “check in” 3/20 – check out” 3/23 2014

YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking at the kids schedule to see what I can do. This is right up the street. If I can swing it I'll book it in the next couple weeks. Ray

Thanks Guys - Ray, I didn't realize you made it to Freak Out this year - saw you won an award for your car in the new Ricambi mag that just arrived - it also has an article about this year's Spring drive we made in April

Just 11 weeks to go until the 2nd annual Spring Thing regional weekend in the Hill Country of Texas. If you would like to join us, please book your rooms at the Inn and also please advise if you would also like to make the Track Day at Harris Hill track on Thursday morning 3/20. We need to start making final arrangements and need a pretty firm head count. This is not a car show so don't feel your ride needs to be pristine to make this event. It IS about having fun and meeting some great folks.

Still waiting on the kids. Erik is going to college next year and has applied to some schools we have not even visited yet. If he gets some money offers then we may be traveling. I should know in next few weeks and will book the venue if no plans with kids.

Hello Mike. I really enjoyed last years event and am going to make my reservations in the next day or two. 12 hr. grind to get there so I will not make track day but will be at the Inn by 7:00pm ish Thursday unless I can get an extra vacation day to travel. That is if I can get dug out of the snow we are notorious for getting in Kansas City in March.

Great to hear that you can make it Kent, the numbers are growing and we should have a great turnout. Please let me know when you book your stay, it is getting close to time to firm up the numbers for the activities.

Wish I could join you all for this event. Last time I was in that area was to attend the factory maintenance classes at the Mooney Airplane Company there in Kerrville. I remember the scenery was similar to the foothills here where I live and the roads were I nice shape. Take lots of pictures.

Last reminder that next week is our upcoming "Spring Thing" weekend in
Kerrville, TX. We have over 35 cars signed up with more coming in locally from
Austin & San Antonio. Weather is looking perfect and we have lots of fun events and driving roads
