Fuel injector clip removal tool

Post by bran100 »

'82 2.0 Fuel injected:
Is there an tool to easily remove the electrical clips for the fuel injectors and others sensors? On the easy to access clips, it's easy to simply spread the clips, but I'm removing the head and hoping there's an easy way to remove the clips from the somewhat hidden fuel injectors without pulling the intake manifold first. I'm not sure which is the lesser of two evils. Remove the manifold from the head first, or remove the clips and leave the manifold in place when I pull the head.

Not sure if is correct, but I use bent nose needle-nose pliers and carefully back and forth with a gentle pull. Seems to work to date without breaking anything...yet, touch wood.

I just did this to replace the fuel lines. All I did was rock the connector side-to-side and the wire plugs worked loose from the FI. Nothing broke :D
