Bruce Parts Bin Mirror-Quality?

Post by TVST*R »

I just received the side mirror from Bruce.

The quality seems only fair ie, the metal around the mirror is
bent over in a somewhat uneven fashion and the edges don't seem
smooth enough. The marking on the back is JW with a circle
around it.

Is this the best reproduction out there?

This is not a comment on Bruce, whos delivery was speedy and I
like the interior mirror I ordered also from him.

Thanks!

Unhappy Customer

Why don't you let Bruce know you are unhappy with the mirror?

I will.
But if they are all like this then maybe I'm
being overly picky.

I agree. Bruce should have been your FIRST complaint stop. Give a guy a chance to make a satisfied customer before you splash his name in public.

I'm not so sure the knock was against Bruce as much as the mirror. I doubt if Bruce mfg'd the piece. I saw it just as a notice that if you're looking for a high quality repro, you may want to keep looking

My intent is to find out what else is out there.

Has anyone bought this piece from IAP or elsewhere?

I would be interested to know about the quality.
That's all.

Don't get me wrong, this mirror is going on the car.

Thomas,
Hard to say with out seeing the mirror, or a picture of it, but your description suggests to me that the part has been damaged some time after manufacture. Whether it was mishandled by the manufacturer, in shipping to distributor, mishandled by distributor, in shipping to vendor, mishandled by vendor, or in shipping to you, it shouldn't have this type of obvious flaw. If it looked that way when you unpacked it as it was shipped to you, I suggest you contact your vendor to arrange for a replacement. You should not have to accept a sub-standard part . . . you paid good money! Good vendors understand this concept. I believe Bruce is in this category.

I believe i buy my mirrors from the same supplier that all other vendors buy from to the best of my knowledge. I will look oner my recent supply. The only thing i noticed before was the gasket was black instead of white.
