Installing 95a Alternator

Post by TJW124Spider1975 »

So I am finally getting around to installing the new 95amp alternator I bought from Mark...

I read the instructions and some previous posts and believe I have it figured out but wanted to ask.

This is my existing alternator still installed.

I believe that the Gray wire is not used in the new alternator.

I am assuming that the yellow/red wire gets connected to the new alternator Green/red wire (but not sure)

Then the big black wires go under the lug on the new alternator.

Jay

I read those before my post. I don't have an orange wire, that was the reason for my post.

if your car has an external regulator you can remove the gray wire from the regulator to the existing alternator. It's not used any longer. The green/red wire must connect to the wire from the dash warning light. That circuit activates the alternator. All of the black wires from the alternator battery lug should get transferred over to the battery lug on the new alternator.
Once it's installed, the warning light should be illuminated with the key on, engine off. The light should go out once the engine starts
