Tachimetric switch : what is this ?

Hello,

Who could tell me what is a tachimetric switch ?
It appears as item N° 187 on the following diagram, but I don't know its use (not even sure Prunette has one

I don't know,but by following the wiring diagram it appears that it controlls the Idle shutoff solenoid CALIFORNIA emission only. If your car wasn't CALIFORNIA legal I doubt you have one.

I think it used to be, but not anymore, so that I don't see it.
