Hazard/Flashers came on by themselves!

Driving to work on a rare sunny November day in Seattle and the hazard flasher lights came on by themselves and wouldn't turn off unless I physically held the switch button in. I had to pull a fuse to get them to stop. Is this most likely from a bad switch? In all my years of Fiat ownership I've never had this happen and I can't remember ever using my hazard lights on this car.

Had the same thing happen to me last year. The mechanism inside the hazard switch had failed. There are numerous fixes however, this one has worked for me (so far all year) http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20838

In order to get home, I read somplace where somone with that same issue used a toothpick to hold/jam the switch in until they could make a fix. I only mention so you can drive home with the fuse in and functioning turn signals.

Thanks for the replies, and thank you for the link. I got it home OK but haven't checked it out yet. Looking at the other posts in the link I bet that's my problem too. I really appreciate the quick feedback. -Mike
