Unknown connector near ignition

Post by markintheair »

Hi guys,

This is something that is bothering me for years now, I have no idea what this connector is doing. The wire on the left side goes into the ignition switch, the other under the dash.

Here is a picture:

Does anyone know what it is supposed to do?

Looks like it's for the key-in-the-ignition bell. The replacement ignition switches do not have that feature, so if the switch has been replaced then there is no place to connect the pigtail coming from under the dash.

I have used that to 'simulate' the Accessories switch on 'normal' cars for my radio, pop the key in and the radio turns on, no need to have the ignition on to listen to music while smoothing over the ladies  ....not that that happens anymore :( ......married with children ........
