You can also "paint" them with a little spar varnish AFTER assembly. This is a trick we regularly use on marine wiring in salt water environments. The varnish keeps the moisture and salt/grime etc off the connected assembly and helps it last a LOT longer before corrosion takes over.

A mechanic cold cocked me with $400 for a look and fix.

I'm going to spend time with the Artigue's and a meter to find the problem. The grounds are clean and the dielectric grease is greasy...
