engine will not start

My 1981 was driving along just fine one block from home. Then she boggs down & engine stops. After two restarts I just barely make it inside my garage? Car will not start? 1.With key on no elec fuel sound. 2. checked fuel pump fuse, OK ? THEN i noticed the Red oil pressure idiot light on spedo dial was NOT LIT ! The Bat idiot lite WAS lit. This tells you something. There may be an ignition switch problem. BUT FIRST, Check the pigtail connections to the ign switch. Guess what ? The Red idiot light for the oil pressure came on and she started and ran perfect. Because I do not know the history of ing switch I will order new ing switch or rebuild. ( By the way still no road breakdowns for more than 3000 miles ! I did just make it inside my garage ) speedshift
