79 2000 passanger headlight problem

Post by barnesjtsl »

For a while my passanger side headlight (low beam) would not come on when I turned on the headlights. If I would switch to brights the passanger side headlight would then come on, then when I switched the brights off, the lowbeams would then stay on.

The drivers side always works fine.

Now my low beam passanger side light won't come on at all. The hight beams still work fine. I have installed headlight relay's for both sides both high and low beam (4 relays total). But this problem was present before I installed the relay's.

Any thoughts on where to start?

By the way. The relay install made a HUGE difference in the brightness of my lights!

Re-check all the grounds. Most often an electrical problem can be traced to poor ground contacts.

Check the fuseholders for loose fuses too. They may appear ok but can have a hi-resistance contact if loose.
