Securing the Ignition switch?

Post by FirstSpider »

Hey guys, I've just installed a new ignition switch in my '81 Spider and it seems kinda loose, is there a screw I'm missing that's supposed to hold it in or something? When I bought the car it was hotwired to start as there was no switch.

Yeup, there should be a small screw that goes through the steel bracket and into the ignition switch.

Do you by any chance know the size or the part number of the screw?

Do you still have your old switch that you can bring with you to find the correct size screw?

The switch is actually held in place with two 4mm pan head screws. They are very short, maybe 4-5 mm in length.
