Electrical issues? Pray!

Post by spidernut »

I have been tackling an odd electrical problem causing my #1 fuse to randomly pop. I spent hours upon hours searching for the problem. I checked connectors, ensured they were seated, checked continuity, resistance, etc., to no avail. Every day, it would blow at least one fuse.

So...sitting in the car frustrated, I asked God to show me the answer. The next morning, I backed out of the driveway and saw something laying in the driveway but didn't have time to go back and check it out. After two days of driving the car with no problems blowing fuses, I had forgotten about the odd thing sitting in my driveway.

I then walked into the house after work and my wife handed me the short wiring harness that connects to the reverse light switch. Though both the two prong connector and the two spade connectors were tight as can be (I personally checked them two days prior), the harness fell out "on its own" and landed in the driveway of all places. That was the odd thing I saw in the driveway!

Upon inspection, I found a worn spot where it was routed through a loop on the top/side of the transmission. It was apparently grounding out causing the fuse to blow.

Now, after two weeks of driving, the car has not blown a single fuse. Some would call it "luck", but I call it divine intervention. I'm so thankful!!!

I have been using him for years. This is why I'm able to get done whatever I do. Although I don't allow him to use me as I should. I need to work on that.

Job's conversations with God are about all the motivation and understanding that I need to attempt to stay humble... but not successfully most of the time.

so... God is your mchanic? Or at least your Consultant?

Sorry. I do not mean to be flippant.
When I was younger, I would scoff at this sort of thing. I remember teasing a girlfriend who told me she had faith in God because she found a perm on sale after she had donated to the poor. I guess I thought that if God were going to show himself to me, it would be momentous and come with some sort of life-changing event.

As I mature, I discover that it is in fact these small tender mercies which show that me God knows me, and is aware of my needs.

I'm glad God helped you out here. And even more glad he got his credit due! 8)
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

Well I think it is easy to see the work of the big guy, just look at the wonderful variety of life in the world, and that we have Spiders to occupy our time and talents! I did not grow up with religion in my life, but my wife is a UCC pastor, so I have had ample opportunity to see and discuss these issues and it has become quite an important part of our thinking. <:^)

I prayed real hard the night before driving my newly purchased '71 home, in the rain, with no wipers, lap belts, and that thorax piercing steering column threatening me the whole way.
