Hello fellas, I have a '77 fiat 124 spider, with an aftermarket electrical ignition, the previous owner installed it and said it came from an '82 or '83. I am a bit skeptical but what would I know? Anyway, after sitting about for approximately a year I fixed the differential and brake issues I'd been having and once more enjoyed driving my baby. But then, one day I started her up, drove half a mile only to have her die on me, never to start again. I find the carb is getting gas, the fuel pump seems fine and the battery was charged, but there seemed to be no spark. I'm wondering if anyone may have some insight for a mechanical/electrical novice such as myself.
My dad (not an expert) and I guesstimated that it may be the coil but when I bought a new coil it seemed to not fit and I'm now wondering if I need something specific to work with my MSG ignition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Attached (hopefully) are pictures of the ignition box and coil.
