Turn signals problem

They where working just fine, then the dash ligth stop blinking but the outside lights work, and know the dash indicator light strays on. but the others don't work (fuses are ok).

The outside lights blink, but the dash lights do not?

I've read somewhere that if the blinking turn signals don't pull enough amps, it won't trigger the dash light to blink. Or something similar to that. On my 75, I've removed the bumpers and replaced the front turn signals with "temporary" trailer lights that aren't too bright. The green dash light blinks one or two times and then stops, but the actual turn signals work just fine.
