I am thinking I will need to order a battery quick disconnect. Any suggestions?

I am looking for one myself. I hope that we can find one that is pre-wired with a battery disconnect switch already built in? I work on the wiring so much on this car that I probably have had to disconnect it many dozens of times already.

Yes I understand that, but I would like to find one that is preassembled, if possible. I don't have the means to make that size crimp or solder joint reliably. Harbor Freight's website doesn't show such an assembly, although they have the components, and Pep Boys web site is just terrible; so will have to take a trip over there sometime.

Yep, that's one of the ones Harbor Freight has (looks just like it anyway) at about the same price. How do you plan to make the connection at the hole?

These things make me nervous. I much prefer to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my battery is disconnected.

For those still looking for a battery disconnect, I bought one from International Auto Parts with the fused link (The Green Knob, Fused) to keep enough current to maintain clock power and radio preset channels, but not enough to start the car - as a theft deterrent. They also have a version without the fused link (The Green Knob), like the one in the ebay link Jay posted.

Feel like an idiot  Apparently if you go into a store rather than calling to find products/knowledge you will get what you need

come to think of it, I have no friggin idea

Installs in moments - simply remove your battery lead, pop the disconnect over the terminal and attach the lead to the round end of the disconnect. Completely reversible. You will need enough room on top of your battery to install this. If you have an oversized battery in your car it may not fit.

That griotsgarage one is fantastic! As long as there is room for it all on top of the battery that will work great, and you can use a standard battery cable. I am going to measure around the battery box and then order one if it seems like it will fit, but without the bypass. When working on the electrics (seems like about 3 times per week....) I want the system entirely down, and it isn't a big deal to reset the clock.
