'72 hazard switch wireing order help

Post by ericsky »

While going after my heater blower I disconnected the hazard switch without marking the location order of the spade connectors on my '72 with the rocker style switch. I searched the forum and came across a post from offshore in 2011 when he had a similar issue sorting out his proper order using a diagram but I can't find the correct diagram. Any help here is greatly appreciated, thanks! Eric

There are letters by the terminals on the switch. According to the wiring diagram, the wires should go like this:

H - red
V - white
I - yellow/black
? - gray

Thanks Vandor! I was hoping to get a reply just like yours with the letters. But my switch has 6 terminals and I thought atleast 5 of the 6 were used and I do have an extra black/white wire? I'll try this tomorrow and should have enough with this to make it work. Thanks again for the quick response and hopefully I learned better this time to mark wires next time.

Two of the 6 terminals are for the bulb inside (the '72s originally did not have the bulb). They should be the 2 connectors on one side, the side where the rocker has the light. So you do not need to connect anything there.

Csaba helped rewire mine during my visit to Dallas. Good luck with it.
