Darn Dash Board Guage Lights

I am presently restoring/customizing a 1971 Fiat Spider. I have been working on it for 2 years and just about done with it. But damn it, I can't figure out why I can not get the dash board gauge lights to work. Bulbs, fuses are good, I have ohmmed out the wiring but still no lights. Also the darn blinkers on the outside work, but not on the dash gauge. Go figure, Anybody have any idea what might be causing this ????

Bad ground to the gauges?

I have been checking that out as well, but have not found anything....yet

did you do anything with the dasboard rheostat ( if that is on a 1971 spider ?)

Disconnct the rheostat...put an ohm meter across the leads of the rheostat and rotate the knob....resistance should change

yes make sure the reostat is working and find that ground

I had a similar problem, some worked and some not. found the recepticals needed cleaning and the light on the speedo has a ground attatched to the outside of the receptical. this did not have a good conection but a small zap strap keeps it conected now. I think they all work now.
