Thought i'd share this issue..

My car would start with some difficulty but would cut out when running.
It would then refuse to start till the engine was cool. There was low voltage to the spark plugs noted...
Turns out that the condenser on the distributor was faulty and replaced with a spare causing the car to start up much more spiffy and the hot "no start" issue was resolved as well..

In the long run it may be worth upgrading to one of the many available electronic ignition systems, so you never have to fool with points or condensers again. Price range is $90 to $500 plus, depending on capability.

i used a fireball 3000 from crain cams
they also have a fireball 700

I've seen several of those fail...
The Pertronix Ignitor is cheaper and simpler.
