Wiring does not mach drawings.

I have a 1979 spider2000. Like so many cars. This car has had a lot of wiring work done. Not all good. I am seeing colors that don’t line up with the drawings. The car came from California. Has anyone seen anything like this?

With cars this old, the odds that someone in the past rewired things is very high.

Do the wires you're talking about look like they're factory?
79 was a transition year, a lot of things changed. The way Fiat used parts, I'd guess that some of your wiring was left over from 78. You may want to check out a diagram for 78 and see if the odd colors match up with that.

I would bet you that most FIATs made between 1900 and 1999 have wiring colors that don't match the diagrams. Very common.
