everything dead but starter cricuit

I installed a new switch in my 76 and worked fine . I added the brown wire fix still fine . I did a stupid thing by not disconnecting the battery as i reinstalled the switch and arced the new brown wire , now nothing works except the radio and the starter, no guages,fuel pump etc What have I done ? I checked all the fuses and all are good. Please help. Thanks

wow! hope you didnt fry your ignition. first thing i would do is see if you have 12V to the top side of the fuse panel. If that is dead you have narrowed your search. also look to see if any of the wires have melted insulation.

No voltage to black wire . Give the ign black term 12v and the car comes to life. What now?
