Ok so maybe not special edition but it sure looks alot better. After 4 other spiders with the tube bumpers I finaly got my rear split bumpers. The last yellow Spider I had I collected a complete set front and rear. When I sold the car 3 years ago I sold them to a guy in Ireland rather then keep them in the garage for who knows how long... NOW I NEED THAT FRONT BUMPER!
In all it was pretty easy just a lot of in and out to get the bends in the brackets correct and cut some of the stock tube mounts. I need to come up with a mount for the sides...unless someone has a set..hint.. I drilled the tubes and hammered them in to get the close to body look I was after. I got this set of ebay for around $140.00 and Ill need to rechrome them some day. I may just take off the over riders when I do and have the ends capped off.
When it comes to paint time Ill relocate the license plate down so it looks correct. Well that was my Sunday, how was yours?

Looks great! Are you going to relocate the license plate lights as well?

When I paint it Ill move the plate down. Ralph what did you do to secure the corners? Mine are just free right now till I come up with a decent bracket.

Re: 1975 Split Bumper Special Edition
I haven't seen too many late-model Spiders with early bumpers. Looks great!
Have you thought about leaving the license plate where it is? It kinda looks like it belongs there, completing the tailight presentation. You could fabricate an ambidextrous triangular plug from chrome plated sheet steel. Maybe make several, and recoup your investment.
I like your idea about removing the overriders, too, with those taillights. When you get a front bumper, I'll bet you'll leave them off as well.

Well you can buy them new for around $900.00 or keep your eye on ebay and the Fiat sites. I got mine pretty cheap but they will need to be rechromed when Im finished.

Sorry for the late reply, For the sides I had studs welded to the lower removable body panels. I have since covered the holes with Chrome bumper bolts I found at the hardware store. I was lucky and found my set on ebay.

Love the color of your car, Ralph. Is that an Ansa muffler? Perfect fit.

Hi JimmyG,
Not an ANSA. The muffler is a Daytona sold by FAZA.
