Over the years. I have only used two vendor for Tops. I used Bayless (now midwest bayless) for a vinyl top. I got my canvas top from world upholstery. For carpet I got it from world upholstery. I am not happy with the quality of the carpet. Its really thin. I have seen people buy there own carpet and used the old carpet as a template with great results. Much cheaper, better quality carpet. I may go this route next time.

The top comes with the headliner?? or you had to buy that separately?

Easy diy or best left to a pro for install?

I bought my canvas top from Duetto Motors. Very good price, looks to be of good quality (I haven't installed yet  ) and great customer service.

http://www.duettomotors.com/tops/fiat_c ... e_tops.htm

Mike Bouse has a good write up on how to install the top.

Here's a link to Chris Obert's installation guide.

Let me practice with mine and I will offer to help get it done. 8)

I found and bought this one. Description is the same as the two vendors you recommended, it includes the cables, and free shipping for 319.00

I looked at the one you just bought but decided to go with this one from Ebay user diamondmall.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fiat-124 ... 5ad724cf94

It's black HAARTZ STAYFAST CANVAS CLOTH MATERIAL with a 5 year warranty for $275.00 shipped. Really good quality and looks great.

Hey guys those Topsonline tops are good quality material (as Haartz always has been). I have personally looked at them versus a few other tops. Some things I've noticed that you may want to be aware of...
1. the stitch per inch count is on the lower side compared to other tops
2. the rear window was stitched in rather than heat seal&glue (i'm sure there was some glue though)
3. the flap that sits to the top of the door windows is cloth rather than vinyl, which means if you get caught in the ran it will leak

Thank you Matt.

I will make sure I have some Piña Colada if I get caught in the rain...

How do these tops compare to Robbins Tops? What is preferable, vinyl or cloth?

Vinyl or cloth, as I have asked around, is really your preference. To me a canvas/cloth top looks more classy, but you have to take better care of it. A vinyl top can take a bit more abuse without showing any degradation.

Can't comment on how the Robbins Tops compare to what I got... only that those are more expensive (in this case, to the tune of 256.00 more...).
