chrome plating
Can anyone recommend a chrome plating place. I need a front bumper pre-75 re-chromed. I have looked online and found a few places but there turnaround time was 8-10 weeks. Seems too long to me or is that the norm.

Re: chrome plating
It's the norm, I'm afraid. There's a place in Florida I've used for plastic rechroming that I've been pleased with. You might want to call them to see what they offer. It's Custom Coatings: http://www.customcoatings.net/

Re: chrome plating
This is the time of the year when motorcyclists and boat owners up North are getting these items done; so you've kinda missed the curve.
Several professional restorers in the DC area use a guy in Richmond, VA. His dad started the biz 35 years ago doing GM warranty work, then gradually got into auto restoration, marine, etc. as the OEM market dried up. He does so much work around here that two Sundays ago, I was 4th in line to drop off my stuff at 0700 outside Andrews AFB, where he makes a monthly run. $500 for one front, two rear, two overriders and two license plate lamps. The front is really gonna test his skills, as I want him to straighten it, fill in the overrider holes, and make it clean like the early cars. If I like the work, I'll give the forum a reference. Will let you know in another three weeks. The pickup/drop off service is great, 'cause UPS on bumpers will kill you.
Chrome Masters in Midway is the only Florida plater advertising in Hemmings.
