They are trim rings that u buy and install over the gauges.

Not so... I removed the trim and polished these... there's another thread where I discussed this earlier... the gauges are mucho better than any plastic trim you could buy at the vendors.

Lookin' very nice indeed, one thing though is the fuel gauge and the temp gauge installed top side up? It looks different on my car.

No mine is right side up. I didn't straighten them but they are sitting right. They are only in there temporarily. I would clean up my rims to look nice like yours. But they aren't in perfect shape. Who knows where the PO got these gauges. My car has bits from here and there.
I'd like to see a pic of your entire dash. I have to cover mine. Your car looks pretty nice!

Brady, it was better to polish the rings while they were off the gauges, trying to polish them while they're on will be a bear since you'll wind up scratching the glass in the process, definately do not try to polish the ring on the clock (the lens is acrylic and the heat/polishing compound will make the lens toast)... removing anodizing is very tedious.

How in the world do you get that ring off without damaging it? Thank goodness my cheapo chromed plastic rings hid the damage I did to mine when I dissassembled and cleaned them.

I understand how to remove the ring but doing it and reading about it is two different things. My glass in all the gauges are in dire need of cleaning but I'm with you Trey...I'll surely ruin them if I try it.

I didnt have to remove my rings when I did this a while back.

Let's see those gauges and trim rings up close... I tried polishing the rings while on the instrument, taped the glasss as well and it didn't polish as I'd liked so I removed the rings... they're looking like chrome but always needs the polish every other week to keep them from fading (they're aluminum).

I specifically did not polish, buff or sand them, I wanted to keep them the look of the back side of the rings, to keep the glare from the sun down. They are in their natural aluminum state which has a brushed look, which is more than fine with me. The flash makes them look whiter than they really are. I guess I would say that they are more a stainless steel look to match my fridge, dishwasher and oven!
