Reupholstered new interior...
Reupholstered new interior...
Hi all,
I re-upholstered my 1982 red spider and already have the seats in the car (will have to take them out to install new carpeting), the door panels are done, one door hand rail is upholstered already, stained all the lower wood surfaces/added new wood to floor console behind the handbrake, and recover the radio console. Looks great and will post before and after pictures that show progress... it should be a much nicer interior than my son's car since it's my second time around at re-upholstering... next to do are the side map pockets and dash/wood... hopefully in a couple of weeks the whole interior is redone and ready for rollout.
Nick

At least tell us what color you're doing the upholstery....or, better yet, drive on up to Winston Salem in June and show it off!

Nick, Nick, Nick.
You make me feel sooo lazy.
And jealous.
Excellent, and I really like the map pocket idea.

Thanks all...
Hoping to finish as soon as possible, nice weather is approaching.
As far as the indentations... it is sewn in place, on the original door panels the seam is heat formed on the vinyl to represent sewn thread... look closely at yours... it looks so much better with 'real' thread, the map pocket is done the same way along with the door handles/consoles.
Still thinking about whether to do a one piece cherry wood dash or veneer the existing ones as I've done before, I really like that one piece dash that eliminates the center plastic piece.
