What are the best carpet sets out there, available? My carpeting is partially finished for a long time. The carpet seems very light, thin and does not stay in place well.
What carpet have you used and how do you keep it from moving?

I can't speak for the "best" carpet sets, but I've been reasonably satisfied with the carpet sets that I have bought from Vick Auto and from Midwest-Bayless. While not super high quality, the price was around $200 as I recall. My guess is that if you want a really great carpet set, it would have to be custom and likely very expensive.
As for keeping the carpet from moving around, I put new thermal/sound insulation (Thermo-Tec) in both my cars, and the carpet doesn't move on that (I have the aluminum foil side facing down).

All of the “regular” vendors have their version and I believe they are similar. I went with the one from Autoricambi and like it. I also but down a butyl thermal barrier but with aluminum side up. I used a 3M spray adhesive to hold it down.

I went minimalist and just have spay-on truck bed liner without any carpet and just a floor mat. Makes it really easy to keep clean and dry so less prone to rusting.

I went with the Auto Ricambi set and happy with the product. I failed to put down any adhesive so passenger side area slides around a bit. Will be resolving that issue over the winter.
Cheers

Could anyone post close up photos of their replacement carpet and where they bought it please? In the process of restoring my interior too.

I am in the process of doing my interior. Currently on laying down Hushmat. (not so fun to cut and fit but it was only $200 for the whole car).
Next step is to lay down either some 1/8 foam or some 3/8 foam padding I got from a carpet show (was $20 total for 6x6 feet).
I have some cheapo carpet mats that came from the PO, not sure what I will lay down to finish though.

What are you using to keep the carpet in place?
I had googled previously and found a "sticky" strip, not tape but like a adhesive paste in the form of a 1/8" or so diameter string than remains sticky and can be flattened down and does not harden.
Anyone know what this was?
What are you using?

That is what I used, but I wish I hadn't used the super nuclear, hold during a hurricane strength. It is not necessary and it makes removal, especially of the underlying EZ Cool insulation layer, very tough.

I’m leaning towards some good double sided Velcro tape.

Hello All.
I recently did insulation work on a 75 Super Beetle, and it worked to keep the sound down (1600 air cooled is loud) and floor vibrations are now non-existent.
Killmat Aluminum side up
Noico Red 150mil
DEI Sound insulation on the firewall
Floor mats aren't glued and nothing slides.
