Wanted, back seat area ideas

Post by samakijoe »

My 1975 124 had the rear seats removed sometime in it's history.
I'm removing the interior for a redo.
There is very little rust on this 42+ year old car. I really lucked out.
I'm looking to build some kind of shelf where to seats use to be.
I looking for some ideas some of you may have built. Build pictures would be great.
Anyone ?

Thanks

Easy to do and the space is much more useful now.

I had the 85 style rear package tray pieces duplicated in fiberglass, they're listed in my web store

I started with the post joelittel refers to and modified it a little. This thread has a picture:

The door locks so I have a locked storage compartment. There is a 12 volt constant on cigarett lighter port in the center facing forward so I can power phone chargers and the like as well. It's easy to get back to the battery connections from there so it was easy to add.
