I want to install an electrical oil pressure gauge . I have found an original gauge but need a sender.
There are many versions available on E Bay and Amazon and but little technical information to allow me to match a sender to the gauge .Different makers senders with an internal resistance from 10 to 180 ohms are rated for 0-80psig and 0-150 psig gauges .
Can any one advise the sender spec for the original FIAT gauge ?T

Re: oil pressure sender specifications
A Fiat sender from one of the Fiat parts vendors would have the right spec. Like this:

Re: oil pressure sender specifications
Hi Maxdog,
I've checked the two gauges I have and they both work - gauge, warning light and backlight.
The gauge only has markings for three pressures: 0, 40 and 80 in larger white numerals and 0, 55 and 110 in smaller yellow numerals. The white numerals a labeled in Italian, the yellow, in English. I don't know what the units of the numbers are. The only units I can convert where those numbers work out is kPa for the white and psi*10 for the yellow, but I could be completely wrong...
Here's what I measured on my workbench (with open circuit, the gauge reads below zero):
Hope this helps you find a sender...

I appreciate the service from US FIAT parts suppliers ,I buy from them regularly . However costs are a consideration .
Your pressure sender would cost over $100 Canadian delivered . Much of this cost comes from the ridiculous costs for cross border delivery charged by UPS and their ilk .They also add large unjustified " Customs clearance " fees . USPS is usually cheaper and quicker and has no extra costs tacked on,
Bottom line ,I can buy the pressure sender off the shelf from my local parts shop for much less.

Actually Fedex charges a $10 flat fee. Yes, it would not be worth buying just the sender, it's only worth it if the shipping charges are spread across several items. But still, we have a lot of Canadian customers who buy just one item.

The Fedex service we use is about the same and often cheaper than Priority Mail, and definitely faster! First Class Mail is cheap, but the chances of it getting lost as so high that I would never use that. We stopped using the USPS because of the large number of lost or delayed packages. We send hundreds of packages outside of the US every year, and losing just 1-2% of them is not acceptable.

Yes, but the chance of finding one that works would be pure coincidence, which is not a very good chance. But sure, I understand, it's worth the effort.
