I am very intimidated by the electrical part of my restore. The interior is coming along well and I am about to reinstall the map pockets. There are wires running throught the map pockets cutouts /speaker holes from PO and into the doors. They appear to be speaker wires to me (they are original fiat wire though not "speaker looking wire) but I am not sure. Is there any other reason for wires running into the doors? There aren't lights or actual speakers in the doors. Was there some kind of "door is open" chime/beep? Or light when the door is open?
Also, there is a speaker type horn/PA under the glove compartment that seems to be a part of audio or anti theft- Any need to keep that. I really dont know what its all about.
Thanks for all the help-I am having a blast with my 82!

Wires going to the doors were for electric windows. I believe that Fiat only used one wiring harness design for all 124's whether or not electric windows were installed.

Probably a PO's alarm system under your dash. I'd remove it and put in my own anti-theft measures.
