So, last weekend, I went to close the hood of my '82 that I've been getting back together...and I noticed that it wouldn't close right. Canting off towards the passenger side when its closed, but looking normal when open. Turns out it looks as if one part of the hinge weld has torn off from the hood. I'll try to get a picture, but has anyone ever had this happen? Is this something that can be repaired by myself, or am I purchasing a new hood? I was able to get it closed, but it looks like my spider has a buck tooth and I'm sure it won't be able to last any number of open close cycles.
In other news...I have a seized rear caliper. Found this out about 10 miles from home, as I was on a nice smooth road with no need to try the brakes for a few miles. Got to drive home with no brakes...that was fun. Fortunately, it was Saturday morning, and there weren't many people on the road. Brake rebuild kits have been ordered.

Re: Hood hinge welds
Had the same thing happen on my '81.
I took the hood into a body shop, and they welded the hinge without damaging the paint on the hood.
Works great, now.
Good luck with your up-coming brake job!
Dave.
