Upper Console
1981. 2000. Did the rear area of the upper console ever have any type of sound insulation? It looks like there was contact cement or a coating of some sort applied to the back of the upper console. Maybe it's some type of factory anti rust but it looks real messy back there, not gooey just dirty looking. Anyone else find this? RB

There was a black material that was adhered to the insides of the upper console.

You guys know your stuff. Any idea what the material was? Fabric, cardboard? It may have been there to prevent wires contacting metal. RB
