Trunk Spring Removal
1981. 2000. What is the procedure for removing the trunk springs? I've tried to stretch them with a vice grip but they are too strong to pull past there anchor point. They make a tinny noise when opening and closing and they can vibrate while driving. Very chinchy sounding. Can't figure why they ever changed from the prop hold up,such a simple device and easy to use. How do I get them off? RB

I used the Washer method to extend the spring and successfully removed the two springs. Any ideas for a nice trunk lid prop? RB
