Depends on why. Rubber past the end of its useful life, brackets rotted or years of getting banged up?

Mine were loose and drooping as well. Luckily for me I just had to tighten the bolts for the bracket that hold the piece onto the bumper.Fiatracertracer wrote:My rear rubber bumper ends are drooping and almost coming off.

The reason it's falling off is that the metal is deteriorating / rusted.

Really need to pull them and see where the rust is and vet out what needs to be fixed as in the brackets or the bumper tubes themselves. May involve just cleaning them up, priming and adding washers, welding or replacing depending on what you find. Clear pictures will help.Fiatracertracer wrote:The reason it's falling off is that the metal is deteriorating / rusted.

The rust is pretty bad on the rubber part, the bolt is hanging on by a thread..... not enough metal to weld to. The tubing is in perfect shape, no rust.

Mr. Fiat is the most expensive however has the best picture of the end caps. If you can break the stud off and loosen the rusted bar stock from the sleeve so you can slide it out you may be able to clean it up enough to slide in a new piece of bar stock after taping it for a stud to bolt it on with. You could also cheat and counter sink a hole through the end of the cap and put a stainless steel bolt with a truss or carriage head though from the outside with the head of the stainless steel bolt just flush so it will pull in slightly below flush when you tighten it.Fiatracertracer wrote:The rust is pretty bad on the rubber part, the bolt is hanging on by a thread..... not enough metal to weld to. Better prices are at Vic's and Recambi's if you want to just purchase new but your talking around $200 for a set of rear bumper end caps:

I sure am glad I do not live in the Road Salt Belt anymore. If the steel imbedded in the rubber caps got eaten so badly how is the undercarriage, suspension, exhaust and such on the car doing?
