Upper Portion of Center Console Removal

I would like to remove the upper portion of the center console in my manual transmission 81 Spider. It looks like the lower console needs to come out first. Any chance I am wrong about this? It looks like it is wedged pretty tightly between the dash and the lower part of the console.

4 screws hold the "radio" console in. Should be able to loosen them and remove it. There will be wires involved. Take pictures and hook it all back up the way it came out.
