Miller's Mule - Jason Miller

Post by pooldoctorstl »

Does anyone know what is going on with Jason Miller? I have been waiting on cam pulleys from him since early January and got the confirmation and core receipt, but I get no response from calls or emails now. Someone here said he was in an accident of some sort a while back and I hope he is okay. I know from reading here that he is usually a little slow with these because he makes them to order so I have been patient, but this is getting out there pretty far and I am beginning to wonder if I should order them from someone else. I am putting the motor back together and will be needing them soon, so just looking for some information if anyone can shed some light.

Jeff,
see this recent thread:

Sadly, there are several of us ready to put things together and waiting on Jason.

Dont know how I missed that thread, I searched on his name before I posted. I understand if he is having problems but the lack of communication is what bothers me. In fact, if he got back to me and said it was going to be 3 more months I wouldn't be happy but at least I would know. Right now it looks like he stole $180 plus a set of pulleys from me.

I tried to get an aluminium flywheel off him about a year ago, the last email from him stated it was on the lathe and close to finished, eventually i got a steel one from spiderpoint...

I'm starting to get very nervous about the $500 plus I paid last year!!
Like I said in the other post, I'll wait until the 10th when he has doubled his quoted lead time and start taking action.

Perhaps someone remembers this individual called dcare2005 on ebay. He's the guy that wrote all the buyer's pointers and advice columns for the Fiat Spider on ebay which still exist today under the Reviews & Guides section. He seemed to know alot about these cars and he sold many parts (2500+ according to ebay). Maybe he was even on this forum in the early days. Anyways it was known that he had cancer and from looking at his ebay score he had a fairly good record up until about Sep 2007 when negative feedback started to go haywire under his name. " No response, seller ignores us " etc. This went on for a few months until all feedback came to a halt. By looking at that pattern on that feedback (which still appears today under dcare2005) it was obvious that his health suddenly turned for the worse until he... He's gone.
I don't know Jason Miller but maybe he took a turn for the worse? Perhaps someone will pay him a visit in Texas to beat the crap out of him or burn him down, only to find out he's gone? Maybe he kept taking orders with good intentions only to falter because of life & health reasons? This still doesnt help all of us who are relying on him with our money...
You never know... Or,
Maybe Jason and dcare are on this forum watching all this and having a couple of laughs...
Just sayin...

I totally agree with that statement, but you're missing my point. In some cases you cannot plan the day God calls your name. :( I can explain it more bluntly than that but i dont want it coming from my keyboard.
Hopefully for everyone's sake on this forum Jason Miller is not a one man show and someone else can complete the orders.

I know for a fact that another member here spoke to Jason, a week ago, about business. So, he is still around!
Also, just sayin...

Then God bless! Hopefully Jason Miller is a member on this board so that he sees how popular he is.

This is SOP for Jason, it always takes months to get the product and communication is minimal too.

Still, it's nice that he makes this stuff for such a small market.

I have to say the one time I asked for a set I got a call a few months later saying they were ready. I had forgotten about them and sold the car. So communication isn't the man's strong point perhaps.
