I now have fiberglass rear shelf inserts available. These are a replica of the 85 rear compartments. Just make a plywood door(s) and cover it with carpet. The rear seat back replacement will be available next week. These can be retro-fitted into earlier cars to eliminate the rear seat

the lower piece is $225, the seat back insert is $250. Both pieces are hd fiberglass.



these pics show the top and back pieces in an early Spider. They can be used as replacements for the 84-85 pieces or retro fit an earlier Spider

What's needed to retrofit these into an '80? I actually have a rear shelf made but never really knew what to do about the backing piece. 250 is a bit steep but I do like the seatbelt covers. Any interest in making me just the covers as two separate pieces?

will the top part of the back seat still work with your bottom fiberglass insert?

I haven't tried that but I imagine you could make it fit if you wanted a half seat-half shelf situation

i was thinking of the possibility of making my own lid but keeping the top seat portion
