turn signals in the grill

I'm running out of options for turn signals. the air dam is too tight to the bumper to hang on underneath. Dont want to set them in the air dam. So i'm thinking in the corner of the grill where many have driving lights. If anyone has done this, can you post a pix so i can see how it looks. gracias!

I know you thought about the headlights but they were not correct but they do sell the ones with the little amber section above the main light dont they? I dont recall them being too expensive and you wouldnt have to add anything else...

Toplessexpat has the turn signals in his headlights. They look great and very effective.

This is what I'm trying to make work. They're truck running lights, but they only have a small single element bulb, unlike the larger 2 element bulb in the original turn signals.

I got the idea from Rob Weibe, who placed them in a slightly different location. I recently sent him an PM to see how he worked it out (since they seem to be working).

I mounted the original turn signals inside the grill. I had to move one of the horns, but it was really pretty easy. I made the brackets out of flat iron. I did have to drill two small holes in each light to attach to the flat iron.

thanks for all the pix, guys. I looked at putting the factory TS behind the grill. would be doable mounting to the radiator schroud. It is a very tight fit. My main concern here is lack of visibility from an angle. I want to go by the SoCal speed shop and see if they have some bullet style with flat backs i could mount to the grill. I could mount to the top of the bumper which was my original plan. once i got the car together, i like the uninterupted bumper line so decided to try something else. Behind the grill, I have a 4" cold air intake on the left and the two trumpet style horns on the right, so i have consumed some room. Harley stock turn signal is a tear drop style that i can get in a orange or smoke lens. the beauty about these is replacement lenses should be available for years and if mounted thru the grill, bulb replacement would be easy. It looks like i could mount it on the stainless grill surround in the upper corners where running the wires would be easy. with its depth, it looks like the front of the lens would be flush with the bodywork. I have a harley dealer just around the corner. I may convince the guy to let me bring one home for fit and if it doesnt work, i could return it.

I really wanted something that didn't look "added on". I agree about the lack of visibility from the side. I was thinking of hooking up the turn signals to the front side light.

I have a cold air intake coming through the old turn signal wire hole on the passenger side. I'm debating what to do with the other side.
