Anyone tried taking off all that black rubber from tube bumpers and moving them in by drilling out the bumpers shocks and draining the fluid. I'd love to see pictures of this as it might be a low cost fix to those cumbersome ugly things.

i will look for some pics today..... i did not take off the rubber but i did move mine in..drilled out the shocks and push them in... sounds easy... and 3 of the 4 corners were just that easy... 1 was not.... ended up in a controlled crash/bump/persuasive nudge to a telephone pole out back to get it to break loose... i thought they looked great... nice and tucked in... it really made a difference in the way the bumpers look...it will however make them pretty useless in an accident or at least less useful than they were... i figured the type of accident i see myself in.. bumpers are not going to do much of anything anyway.. loved it for about 3 months .... then saw a bumperless pic (and loved it) and then i just removed them when i was was doing work on the car... it was up on jack stand and waiting for parts... i got bored and away they went..they are heavier than i thought they would be... and in my mind i was doing the car a favor .. search tucking in bumpers or bumper tuck.... there are a few threads out there
