Folks:
Been 20 years since the 71 124 Coupe got traded on a VW Rabbit (if I'd waited 3 months, it would have been a GEN I GTI....

) . Last Monday, spouse and I took ownership of a 72 124 Spider, same med blue color, with 49K on the car and a freshly rebuilt 1608 under the hood. Needs lots of interior work, and some rust repairs to driver side (passenger, rear, and LF look fine). Spouse says she now has a lifetime list of birthday presents for me...

. First job is seatbelts (on order, due Tues) then tires, then a trip to the restoration shop a friend runs in Reeseville for the chassis work. Looking forward to that first picnic, then perhaps a local show or two in the "daily driver" category.
Glad to be back, and I'm doing my arm stretching exercises in preparation!
Neil
