Nothing better than rusty 30 year-old nuts and bolts to make me feel my age.
I found a 72 in the local wrecking yard with straight bumpers and intact front turn signals. Lucky for me it was a nice sunny day. The bumpers will need sand blasting. Not certain at this point whether to rechrome or powder coat but I have all winter to figure it out.
Was rather fun though

Re: A few hours in the wrecking yard
did you pull the gas tank?
does it have a good interior?
the first one i got my hands on in a yard was$100 and take what ever deal
the parts needed was a top 4 rims w/tires that it had
parts grabed gauges ashtrays rearview mirror driveshaft cig lighter parking lights
i wanted the tranz but just didnt know how back then
those four bolts got me
and i should have grabed the exhaust also "ho well"

Interior was shot as was most of the body. You could poke holes in the quarter panels with your finger. Except for a few trim bits and taillights; it was pretty gone
