is this what your Top pull strap looks like? It can look better. the end caps are aluminum. they can be cleaned and polished. here is all you need.
1. long 1/8 square fine file
2. couple sheets of 200 grit sand paper
3. couple sheets of 350 grit sand paper
4. couple sheets of 1000 grit sand paper
6. good aluminum polish (paste)
7. 6 pack
8. some clean old rags.
1st you start with the 200 grit sand paper. get all the paint off working up and down a side to side. than the same with the 350 than the 1000 grit sand paper. than either your finger or a old fine tooth brush work the polish all over several times the clean with rags moving to clean spot on rag as needed do the polish several times as needed.
the file is to get in deep scratches out before the sand paper. after you sand if you still see scratches use the file and repeat sand proses.
