Another mystery (for me) working under the car.
What is this space for? Looks like brackets waiting for something
And could someone post a pic of the front wheel wheel looking toward back of car. Is there a space there with a rubber edge? How does it terminate at the bottom and what does bottom look like. Mine has rusted away.

First pic shows were the heat shields and hangers for the exhaust system originally went.
Others show missing structure in the wheel wells where the ends of the rocker panels bolt on and the rubber retainer plug gets installed in the front. The fender liners, structural rockers and firewall all converge at this point and I believe in the past year or so there was a pretty detailed post showing restoration of this area.

I really have not had time to dig in and look for it however it was a full restore thread and not just about the rockers although a bit of extensive work was done on the structural rockers as they were rotted through in many places. They used the yellow/green poly-chromate primer on it and it was quite extensive taking a lot of time.
I may have been Drummond 1980 Phase 1 and Phase 2 restoration threads that I am thinking about. A lot of pictures to sift through on that restoration.
