Yes, it is a worthwhile upgrade to the older cars (regardless of the carb(s) used), eliminating the slop in the complex linkage. You only need the parts from a newer Spider. The cable is on the left side of the footwell, as opposed to your rod on the right. The only tricky part requires you to disconnect the steering column mount in order to provide clearance in removing/replacing the pedal and shaft.
