That makes a hilarious picture to imagine Denise. Hey, if a person weren't in a hurry to change a tire, he could just get his wife pregnant, put her under the car and wait for her to swell up and raise the it!

WOW, did this thread take a detour while i was out solving my paint problems.
i contacted Dupli-color via their website email link, and lodged my complaint directly to them. Within 36 hours i received an email reply giving me directions on how to receive a refund of my full purchase price...or replacement of product.
So... Dupli-color has offered to do the stand up thing. In approximately two weeks, i will return to this thread and letcha know if they actually follow through.
now, if we would all return our defective products back to the point of origin and demand QUALITY, rather than only choosing for PRICE we might be lots better satisfied.
Mike, so this is clearly a chemical issue, not an adhesion issue, correct? I mean it literally dissolved the paint, right? I have a can sitting in my closet that I bought years ago and never got around to using. (wonder what they claim the shelf life of that is, anyway)
aluminum is fairly porous, and my calipers were spotlessly clean. No, not an adhesion issue.
brake fluid is very caustic and turned the dry, cured paint to liquid instantly.
i am sure, but not positive, that the paint is fairly resilient in all other respects, and may stand up to the heat a caliper is expected to endure. My point was, that the paint was advertised to stand up to everything the caliper was expected to. that infers brake fluid.
mislead me to purchase it rather than another product.
ive used the duplicolor caliper paint on my x. i like the way it looks, sure it came off around the bleeder screw a little when bleeding, but not a big deal. havent cleaned it with anything but soap and water, so its still good. ive used duplicolor on all my engines and have been very happy. love thier clear paint. would be nice if the caliper paint could hold up to brake fliud a little better though.
denise if your buying at walmart, you might be buying chinese knock off socks. been buying hanes for years, and they hold up well, even in my sweaty redwings, all day. denise are you sure you have your hanes on? by the way, i buy my clothes, at least for the last 5 years, due to uncontrolable circumstances. lol. funny, sometimes my mom helps out with my clothes shopping, and sometimes my girlfriend and her daughters try and steer me in a better direction. its funny how your never to old for your mom. even when your a grand pa.
Mike, I think a caliper paint kit that requires heating or baking would be far more resistant to chemical spills than one that you can just paint on and let cure...or you could have them powder coated and it'll only cost as much as your entire brake system and wheels.
Rey, you're right about never being too old for Mom. I'm a grandma but I'm still excited about the mother-daughter date I have scheduled with my mother when the kids go back to school. you are more-n-likely correct about that, denise. quick methods are not always the best. I am, however, impressed with the stand up approach that dupli-color initially addressed the issue. and, i promise, if they follow through...i will report that too.

be sure not to shake those to much , poor them in slowly and leave 1/4" in the bottle or they will be bitter , drink chilled
