Great news when you have a rust free car, and one spot should be considered rust free!!
When Pininfarina took over production in 83 they made have made more changes than what I thought. No worries, just wanted to get the info out there for anyone else. I think I am going to get a putty knife and work on the door trim. Maybe I can pry it up. Thanks for all the help.

Any tips on removing the chrome strips holding window seals? Do they just "pop" off?

I ended up using a set of plastic interior trim tools I bought from Harbor Freight. Just pry them up.

those pieces are not chrome, but stainless steel. they polish up real good.
