So what was the advantages of running the fiberglass fender over a stock metal one ? or why did you choose
fiberglass ? is it really lighter i never had a 124 fender off . I removed fenders off a 131 once they weight
nothing so i never considered replacing them with fiberglass replacements .

I could not find a complete steel fender anywhere at the time I was looking. The cheapest one I found (which was backordered) was $450 and required welding it together in three parts. The fibergalss one was cheaper and came in one complete piece (http://www.fiatparts.com/body2.htm).
Seam welding was beyond my skill set, so I went with the fiberglass.

Fiberglass doesn't rust.....
