i previously owned a 84 124 TC sedan (1600 cc, 4 doors, 4 speed gearbox, rear drum brakes) in exactly the same shade of green as all those hideous appliances from the sixties. the car was very fun to drive: it had decent acceleration, sounded great, would stop nicely, and would actually corner to some extent.
the 1438cc engine in the early years seems to small to me, especially as i live in denver and the car will see mountain usage. i like the look of the small bumpers over the big, clunky, and useless '5 mph bumpers'. i have some experience with a 1600 engine, although i don't remember if it was a 1608 or a 1592.
what's the best way to approach this? hints/tips/advice?
it's hard to be rational about a mostly emotional purchase, but i intend to try
