i only drive my spider twice a week to work and today i noticed a clutch smell from when i left the stop light- i didn't launch hard but seemed like it had a little slip to it.
i floored it and let off the gas a couple times and the car would respond like the clutch is graping well..
does anyone know how to determine how much clutch is left-- i don't wanna get stuck on the road and don't wanna pull a trans out while it's 25 degrees here in Maryland..
thanks

stinking clutch
Re: stinking clutch
hey puddin
The only way to check the clutch would be pull it out to see what is left on the disc . You might have a
seal leaking and had some oil splash on the clutch is that possible ? whats the millage on the engine/
clutch .

Re: stinking clutch
is the adjustment correct? You should have 3/4" of free play in the pedal at the top of its' travel
Re: stinking clutch
65K miles and i suppose its the original clutch == replace the clutch cable over the summer and free play is about 3/4" at the clutch fork. is that right or 3/4" at pedal????== i think there is something to the oil leak post i know the trans leaks and possibly on the flywheel===
