Nice Maroon Paint....Suggestions?

Looking for a maroon color paint that looks nice & will hold up here in the PA area....any suggestions?? Mine's a 78 that needs a rebuilt trans, clutch, paint & top....hopefully gets done this winter. Thanks. Ken

How about the original solid color like on my car? Or do you want a color with metal flake?
It's hard to find a pic that shows the true color of my car. Lee Putman's is the same color:

are you looking for a stock color or a color that will not be to pricey ? I like both the car in the pic and lee's car but if your looking for price go with the Ford red on the late 90s expeditions it is real it is a little more red than there cars and has a little metal flake. but if your spending money go with the the color in the picture. it looks great I am sure either guy would give you a paint code. take it to a paint supply or body shop and ask them to paint you a test piece

It's Code # 162 Amaranto/maroon. All the paint chips I can find online doesn't show the true color. I used Diamont paint. Gave the paint store the paint code and the color matched perfectly.

Thanks so much...my body/paint guy wants to use Dupont base coat/clear coat...hopefully they will mix it to match as well. I will attempt some before/after pics, but I am not so good at posting pics. Thanks again.

I could possibly get my color scanned and get the mixing code for Dupont if it will help you. Your paint store could mix a sample to let you know what color it is, or I may have something here with the color for you to see.
