Honda S2000 Seats-Pictures Now

Post by Schnauzer »

I have an opportunity to score some leather Recarro seats from an S2000. Does any one have any experience with these seats or tried them in a Spider? I understand that I will have to McGiver the mounting rails but I am concerned about width and seating height.

Thanks for the help. I have to move relatively quickly so if you have any information please post it.

I guess no one has tried these seats as I have gotten no responses to my post. I am going to give these a whirl and will post results and some pictures as I fit them to my 76.

Here is what they look like in the Honda.

They look freakin' cool. I'd say go for it - if they don't fit, flog 'em on c'list.

I believe that they may be a bit too wide and too tall for the spider. I have a Acura RSX Type s and they are the same seat as the S2000. But currently my vehicles are in storage while I'm in japan. I would measure them first.

Got the seats last night. Width is perfect. Fit like they were designed for the Spider. As the head rest is part of the back and more egg shaped they are a little taller than the stockers but will not interfere with the top nor do they look too odd. Being a modern design they certainly don't match up with the 76 roadster look but I think I can live with it. The back and seat cushion do not bolt together but rely on a mounting frame to create the structure. The guy I got them from used the original frames for his new racing seats with the slot for the harness. I will have to locate a frame. I have been lead to believe that Honda contracted with Recarro for the S2000 seats. Don't know if this is true but if so I should be able to come up with a mounting frame from them. Any body have knowledge of this?

There are 3 models that use the seats. The acura RSX,Honda S2000, and the Civic si. All these use the recarro seats. You might want to look at a wrecker yard for these brackets and they are pretty much interchangeable.

Update! I have made a small amount of progress. I located the driver's side set of OEM seat brackets minus the sliders. These brackets actually form the frame for the seat back and seat bottom. There is no internal frame to fix the back to bottom and accomplish hinging. When mounted to the seat parts the inside diameter of the frame coincides perfectly with the outside diameter of the stock Fiat floor mounted rails. Even better, the built in tilt angle for the seat cushion is perfect. The S2000 seat locates very nicely centered between the door and console. The seat height is near stock. The seat back is a touch taller as the head rest is part of the back and more stylized. When reclined or slid fully rearward the left side of the seat back clears but not by too much. The body tab that extends from the upper door jam is the mount for the inside left trim panel. I have about 3/4" clearance there, just enough for the trim. I am encourage as it looks like all will work out. Seats are very comfortable and with the built-in bolsters holds you firmly in driving position. News at 11

An exciting day in North Idaho. Sun is shinning, 70 degrees, no rain, AND I GOT MY SEAT BRACKETS!!!! I procurred these seats back in October of 2010 and have been trying ever since to come up with seat brackets. Ricaro won't help as they consider these Honda OEM parts, wreckers won't sell without the seats, Honda parts shows them in the catalog but can't get them. Even if they could the price is outrageous. I finally went to a metal fabricator and had some made. Used the driver's side as a template. Fabricator could not do the strengthening ribs. Originals are pressed with a die. Ended up using plate steel. Picked them up this morning. Will be welding these to the stock sliders tonite. Wahoo! I will post pictures when I get them mounted. Will have to dye the seats later. Can't waste nice weather.

Nice looking seats, Looks like the fit well. How do they sit height wise vs. stock?

Looks like you've won that battle...on to the next.

Looks like the dog likes them too!

You should have no problem with height, I think mine are bigger and they fit ok.
